VE75 Virtual running event
Published: 16 July 2020
Due to the growing popularity of virtual races, it was decided that Four Marks would host its very first virtual running event in lieu of the usual 10k race. As Government guidelines restricted sporting events and social gatherings, this seemed to be a great opportunity to continue hold a race and get the community involved. In conjunction with Alton Runners, the event was created and took place throughout the month of June. Non runners, families and children were all encouraged to get involved with the addition of a new 2k category. It was a great success and forty six people took part in the event.
The Parish Council appreciated that this has been a difficult time for a lot of families and so entry fees were just £5 regardless of the distance that the participant chose. Through these entry fees and kind donations, a total of £250 was raised for Help for Heroes which was the chosen charity for the VE75 celebrations.
