Footpaths

Four Marks has a large network of footpaths - some more urban connecting residential areas within the village and some more rural featuring unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife.  The beautiful scenery on our doorstep is perfect for exploring and includes Swelling Hill Pond and Old Down Woods.

The Parish Council works in conjunction with the Hampshire Countryside Access team and the designated footpath warden to ensure that the paths are well maintained and signposted.  If a member of the public finds an issue with a footpath such as something preventing the use of the path or broken signage, they are able to report the issue here.  When walking the footpaths, please observe the Countryside Code .

Please download the walks below which are extracts from 'Countryside Walks in and around Four Marks' published by the Four Marks News with grateful thanks to Campbell E Scotland for preparing the walks and members of the Alton Ramblers Group for reviewing and revising each of the walks.  A copy of all ten countryside walks with maps and illustrations is now available in most local shops.
